A great book for beginners
"This book covers a lot of Metallica's material, spanning from their early days with Cliff Burton (songs from the Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning, and Master of Puppets albums) to the more recent stuff featuring Jason Newstead (anything from ...And Justice For All to Reload). If you can read sheet music, that's great. If not, then fear not; this book also has tabs! However, the one and only flaw is that the book only has riffs transcribed. So you won't be able to learn a whole song from this book. But still it's a great book. I recommend it for anyone willing to learn some Metallica. Enjoy!"

Practice that actually sounds good!
"I had started and stopped practicing bass dozens of times before I found this. After tossing all the other crap I'd collected, I worked through this book exclusively for about 2 weeks. I now can play decent licks, work out my own tabs and am finally optimistic about advancing. Great sounding practice and some pretty tricky moves. I love this book and CD!"

Good Book for Learning Bass
"This is a good book for beginners in that you are playing Metallica songs in no times and if you can read you can learn. It's easy to learn but always a little bit challenging and the CD doesn't tell you how to do it it just shows you how it sounds."
-- Alex from Anchorage, AK, November 05, 2004

GOOD
"This book is pretty good overall...but that is only because its probably the only book out there that doesnt have you playing lame ass blues or some crap like that. It doesnt actually teach you ALL that much but its pretty good. I recommend it if you are tired of buying books that teaches you crappy music, but if you dont mind doing that then you could probably find something better."
