Electric Slide Guitar

With instructional text, introductory text, standard guitar notation, guitar tablature, guitar notation legend and musical examples.
This book/audio method explores the basic fundamentals of slide guitar: from selecting a slide and proper setup of the guitar, to open and standard tuning. Plenty of music examples are presented showing sample licks as well as backup/rhythm slide work. Each section also examines techniques and solos in the style of the best slide guitarists, including Duane Allman, Dave Hole, Ry Cooder, Bonnie Raitt, Muddy Waters, Johnny Winter and Elmore James.
Grab the neck and hit the bottle!
"I've been a fan of slide guitar for a long time now - all styles from Son House and Elmore James to Ry Cooder and Bonnie Raitt. I'd managed to work out a few things myself but only basic stuff. Then I bought this book! It is the best guitar tutor I've ever come across. Right from the start it gets you playing decent sounding slide. It has just the right balance of theory and practical. It starts off with simple exercises based on D/E and G/A tunings that a complete beginner could cope with - but even these sound great. It then progresses to solo playing in various styles and complexities. These sound even better. The title emphasises the 'electric' aspect and admittedly it contains more 'lead'-style than 'acoustic accompaniment'-style but I play most of this on acoustic as well and it sounds just as good. I've bought 3 slide books and this is without exception the best. If you want to learn slide I can't believe you'd ever find a better book than this."
