Ever heard of a guitarist called Tony Alfano? He runs www.guitarrx.com.
Tony has been playing guitar for over 35 years. He has performed on stage with Jan & Dean, Billy Swan, JJ Jackson, The Temptations, Danny and The Juniors, Chuck Berry and The Beach Boys.
www.guitarrx.com showcases a unique See-it, Hear-it, Play-it learning approach. There are hundreds, if not thousands of guitar courses and lessons available on the Internet, but none combine this play-along approach with real guitar audio. Many use the keyboard sounding midi format. There are lots of good courses and lessons available, but how many times can you practice a fingering exercise, play a scale, or study music theory before you get bored with it?
The foundation of the guitarrx approach is based upon a tried and true principle: we learn best when we enjoy what we are doing. The web site features heaps of individual guitar songs, leads, and riffs. While predominantly rock and blues guitar, the company is adding new music regularly to the site. Additional genres to be added over the next few months include country, heavy metal, fusion, new age, and gospel. You can sign up for a membership and get some free guitar music. Don't miss this opportunity: www.guitarrx.com
Some of the guitarrx features:
It allows you to play the music at normal speed AND at half speed - a great feature when you first try to learn something new Backing tracks are available for appropriate songs. Allows you to nominate and vote for songs. Songs with the winning number of votes will be added to the site library. Perhaps the most unique thing about this site and the learning format it uses is that it is fun, it is enjoyable. Most other sites sell lessons or courses on theory, scales, and excercises. Don't get me wrong, these are all good and important components of learning. HOWEVER.... learning is easier when it is fun, and since you will be learning by playing solos and riffs from some of the all time greatest guitarist and classic guitar songs, you will find this site a refreshingly different approach to improving your guitar skills. www.guitarrx.com
